Hearing Resources

Hearing Impairments can become a common occurrence in children born with a cleft lip and/ or palate. Many cleft children are at higher risk for constant ear infections that can cause temporary hearing loss and sometimes permanent loss. That doesn’t mean the loss is only blamed on the ear infections. In many cases, there can be actual structural bone or nerve damage within the ear. There are many programs, products, resources and support organizations that can assist families with children and hearing loss.
